“A well written, engaging book containing beautiful illustrations. The cherry on the cake is the riddle at the end, and the opportunity to receive a prize if you solve correctly. What child doesn’t love to receive a certificate!” Amazon Customer – Feb 2016

Sheepy and The Riddle of the Occurrence Book“This is a beautifully illustrated, wonderfully weird story and riddle. The world created by the author is decidedly different, populated by magnificently created colourful creatures and written with a riddle to be solved and a website on which to enter a competition where readers can put their answer.

The story is convoluted, silly, wacky and yet still manages to be engaging and intriguing. The language choices are at times amazing but not necessarily appropriate for the target age group of 4 to 9 year olds. For most children in this age range, this is a book for adults to share with children rather than one for them to read independently. It will certainly help improve the range and vocabulary experienced by most youngsters, introducing a variety of fantastic names for the characters and places and using complex sentences to describe scenarios and events.” Independent Review – March 2016

What an odd little story – it’s written for kids (geared to ages 4-9) but I’m not entirely sure how much of the story that younger kids would be able to follow. The language used is wonderful but a bit nonsensical and tough to follow. When I started the story I was unconvinced and wasn’t sure I’d be able to finish it but as the story wore on it grew on me. Some of the language and style reminds me vaguely of Roald Dahl and Jasper Fforde which, admittedly, is not for everyone. Give it a try though! If your child has a vivid imagination and loves to make up stories, this may be right up their alley.Independent Review – March 2016

“Fantastic book! Sophisticated use of imaginative, onomatopoeic language – really engaging for kids and has educational value also. Great illustrations allow you to really envisage the story and characters. The riddle at the end is a great finish and is well developed; it is fantastical and intriguing from start to finish. Definitely recommended.” Amazon Customer – Feb 2016
